Three Products to Use Daily to Prevent Sickness – Are You Using Them?

Prevent Sickness

Life can get hectic and everyone has neglected themselves at some point, but what we cannot afford to neglect is the issue of germs and health. Catching a cold is a big inconvenience in one’s daily routine, and it is often preventable by taking extra precautions to eliminate germs.

Germs are everywhere. Door handles, shopping carts, counter tops, and so much more. These surfaces have even been found to contain E. coli and other bacteria from human waste! Touching one’s face or food after touching these germ-populated areas is a frequent cause of sickness. It is easy to forget about the germs that are picked up from the simplest daily tasks, but it is just as easy to keep products on hand and make a habit out of killing germs.

Products to Help Prevent Sickness

Here are three products to keep on hand to use daily to prevent sickness caused by germs.

1. Hand Sanitizer

When a sink is not readily available, hand sanitizer is the perfect solution to get rid of germs quickly and prevent sickness. Most hand sanitizers claim to kill 99.9 percent of all germs, and are available in bottles small enough to carry in a purse or pocket.

Larger bottles with pumps are helpful to keep around the office or around the home for easy access. Hand sanitizers come in liquid or foam, have added aloe for skin moisturizing, or have added scents for a more pleasant aroma.

2. Antibacterial Hand Soap

Not all soaps are made equally. Antibacterial soaps contain ingredients that are more effective at killing germs than other types of soaps. They also help prevent sickness. Antibacterial soaps are important to keep in every bathroom, but also in the kitchen where contact is made with raw meat and other food products.

Antibacterial soaps even come in bar form for use in the shower. Many medical professionals advise patients to shower with antibacterial soap prior to surgeries to prevent the risk of infection.

3. Disinfecting Wipes

Disinfecting wipes come in two forms: surface wipes and hand wipes. Both types are convenient products and have a place in the home and on the go. Surface wipes are perfect for cleaning up kitchen and bathroom counters for regular sanitization, as well as doorknobs, table tops, mirrors, and other furniture or surfaces for general cleaning.

Hand disinfecting wipes are perfect to keep in the diaper bag, the car, or even a purse. From cleaning up sticky messes on a child’s face, or cleaning up after a meal, hand sanitizer wipes are safe on the skin and offer a quick and easy cleanup. Hand wipes can also be used to wipe the surface of your phone, which has been reported to contain more germs than public toilets!

Keeping the products on hand is not enough alone to prevent sickness; however, keeping the products visible can provide a reminder to use them and encourage healthy habits of germ-killing. Diligent usage of disinfecting products can greatly reduce the amount germs present, as well as the likelihood of becoming sick, so more time can be spent on the important things in life.
