Texarkana ER Thanksgiving Pie Giveaway

It’s always a great day when you can score a great pie to celebrate the annual Thanksgiving holiday with your family.
Such was the case last week at SignatureCare Emergency Center in Texarkana, TX, when teachers and first responders in and around Texarkana were treated to free pies as a token of appreciation for their service to the community.
In the first photo below, Giselle Galvan and Julio Olavarria (right) received their free pies from SignatureCare Emergency Center, Texarkana marketing assistant Amanda Bowers, pictured on the left.
Olavarria, an ESL teacher at Theron Jones Early Literacy Center, selected a cherry pie while Galvan, an art teacher at Texas High School, took home a pecan pie.
The SignatureCare Emergency Center's Texarkana event, its third annual pie giveaway, featured pies of various shapes and flavors, including pecan and pumpkin.
The pie giveaway was a "token of appreciation" for teachers and first responders, according to Bowers. "You can't go wrong with a pie," she said, adding that the emergency center distributed about 50 pies.
